Anthony Clark was born in 1942. He studied at the Sunderland College of Art from 1959-1963 and

from 1963-1966 at the Royal College of Art, London, where his tutors were Carel Weight and Ruskin Spear.

Having spent many years lecturing, he now devotes himself to working as a full time artist.

Anthony has exhibited at the Royal Academy of Art Summer Exhibitions; he has regularly exhibited

at the Piers Feetham Gallery, London and also the Brian Sinfield Gallery, Oxford.

In 2004, he held a major retrospective exhibition of paintings, drawings and etchings under the

title of 'In the Footsteps of El Greco' at the Bowes Museum, County Durham.

His work is represented in many public collections and commissions both in Britain

and abroad, including paintings owned by President Jimmy Carter, Cardinal Hume and L.S Lowry.
